For the student with limited or average credit, the Discover Classic Student card just might be the answer. The card is made for those with average credit and a desire to earn a rebate with Discover’s Cash Back reward program. This offers rebates on purchases made with their cards.

For the Discover Classic Student Card, students will earn a full 5% cash back for purchases they make with select Discover partner merchants. For other purchases, up to 1% can be earned. To get that full 1%, though, $3,000 must be spent a year. If less is spent, than the percent back is adjusted down in intervals.

Additionally, those using the Discover Classic Student Card will enjoy a 0% interest rate for the first six months, which is not something that comes with many student cards. Also, online account management and no liability for transactions that are unauthorized. These make the card a solid card even for those with limited credit.
